Walking Around Kinmount, Ontario
Переглядів 1,2 тис.3 роки тому
This is a video of my short trip to Kinmount, Ontario. Kinmount is a small town in Kawartha Lakes. It's actually classified as a village and has a population of just 500 people. During the summer the population swells quite a bit with cottagers and tourists visiting the town on a regular basis. With its location right on the Burnt River and close to Northern Ontario, it makes for a perfect base...
Whale Watching in Tadoussac, Quebec With AML Cruises
Переглядів 7 тис.3 роки тому
This is a video of the highlights of my experience going whale watching in Tadoussac with AML Cruises. Tadoussac is known as one of the best places in the world for whale watching. On a whale watching cruise you can expect to see two or three marine mammal species, sometimes more, in a two- or three-hour tour. A dozen whale species visit the Lower Estuary. Some are abundant, while others are en...

A Quick Visit to Cochrane, Ontario in October
Переглядів 12 тис.3 роки тому
This is a short video I made about my visit to Cochrane in Northern Ontario. Cochrane is a lovely, very small town that's located about 7.5 hours north of Toronto. There isn't much to do in Cochrane, though it's a small trucking hub for drivers heading west or south into either Manitoba or Southern Ontario. The point of our visit was to check out the famous Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat. After th...

Tadoussac is known as the whale watching capital of Quebec and it's a great base for exploring the Quebec Fjords. Tadoussac is part of the Côte-Nord region of Quebec. It's a popular destination for Quebecers and other travelers heading further east into the Quebec interior or onwards to Labrador City. In Tad...
The AML River Cruise on the St Lawrence River in Quebec City

One of the more popular things to do in Quebec City is to take a river cruise on the St Lawrence. These are a great way to learn more about the city and check out the different Quebec City sights from a new perspective. The cruise starts out right on the river in the lower part of the Old Town. It turns around almost immediately after leaving and follows the Levis coastline until the St Lawrenc...

Old Kinmount aka "Skinmount"! ") The first time I was in Kinmount was August 1962 the month I was hatched! We have a cottage in Burnt River on Summerville 9. The cottage is up a short band and maybe 20 feet from the river and boy do I have great memories when I was a wee little menace, going up to the cottage was so exciting, it seemed the days leading up to the day we were to leave took triple the time as regular days, and for reasons I can explain, bedtime was always the most exciting, I guess in my puny little boy mind, bedtime meant another day had passed and when I woke the next morning, I would be a completer pain in the ass asking my mom to buy me a new fishing rod and lures because y old one, which she bought me the year prior was too old to catch the monster Muskie I was going to catch! LOL! Things never seem to change up in cottage country. Our nearest neighbours were my aunt and uncle's cotage about two miles down the road, then the next was my grandfather's cottage. He's the one who bought a few hundred acres on both sides of the river when he came back from WWII. He parted the land out to my dad and my uncles and aunts. His cottage was in the best spot. His cottage was the biggest also and the back side was extended out and sat two large beams overhanging a steep drop off down to the river, and on that section of the river, there was a good sized bay and across that bay on the other side, and just to the left were a set of rapids. That's where I hooked an enormous world record Muskie that was close to 6 feet long and it was early fall when they gorge themselves to near bursting knowing the winter was coming and food would be in short supply, and the freezing cold temps would cause low energy making it difficult to ambush, which is a muskie's favourite method for snaking on other fish! Oh shyte, I started digging through a rabbit hole there, my bad!! If anyone reading this is considering visiting, camping or renting a cottage up there I very highly recommend it, you'll have a blast and meet some of the nicest people ever!! If you're a fisherman, be prepared to have the fishing trip of your life because there are endless hidden and exposed lakes, rivers, creeks, dams, and back bay honey holes all over that are and some of the very best fishing of my life was up there! Huge muskie and small mouth bass. I've hooked a world record muskie, and I've seen, and hooked, nut have not managed to get one on the boat, were small mouth bass in the 12 to 15 pound plus range!! I am NOT BSing folks!! They are in the river. If you do any scuba diving, or snorkelling, make sure to strap on a good blade because you might soil your rubber pants at seeing some absolute humongous Muskie in that river!! There's PLENNY of Walleye, Crappie, Blue Gill, Jumbo chicks...I mean, Jumbo Perch and if you go to a ministry office and ask for a local map showing species and locations and you can catch some speckled trout, and brown trout!! I have secret honey holes which I will never divulge...for anything under a Gino!! LOL! Jack ~'()'~

@@kingsneverdie2052 Yes we did. It didn’t snow when we drove from Salzburg to Hallstatt but it did rather heavily when we drove from Hallstatt to Cesky Krumlov and it was quite scary. We just slowed down and paid close attention to the roads. The Austrians were quite efficient in clearing the snow off their roads so they were quite safe to drive on.
